The first author described the American Dream as being the or "fullest Stature" at which you are capable to be. So to live the American Dream you must fulfil your dreams.  The second author thinks to live the American Dream you must have a good job and make a lot of money. The author says that your profession describes who you are. One author is living to the fullest while the other is to have a good job and make a lot of money.

The first author talks about the when the American Dream first came about. He talked about the 1700s when people wanted to come to America to live the American Dream. The second author used examples of different jobs like a lawyer and a person in the fast food industry. If you were a lawyer people would think you are rich while working at McDonalds you get less respect and people know you don't make that much money. I knew what the second author was talking about more like how as a lawyer people would treat you different then if you said you worked at McDonalds.

I agreed with the first author. I got kind of lost when they started talking about the 1700s but the first paragraph made more sense. That the American Dream was living to the fullest without trampling one another. That was kind of what I said in my journal the other day.
